History of the Creeds Study

The History of “I believe”

Pastor Shupe is teaching a course on Early Church History this fall.  This class is intended for Middle School through Adults in  the Sanctuary on Sunday Mornings at 9:45. You can join in person, or online through Zoom.  Recordings will be available on YouTube.

The course will focus on the first four centuries after Christ’s resurrection and the formation of the Apostles’ Creed and Nicene Creed.  These statements of faith were written to be comprehensive accounting of the Christian faith.  They found their language in response to questions and false teachings.  These creeds are considered to be Universal, applying to all Christians.

This course is part of Pastor Shupe’s project to fulfill the Doctor of Ministry Degree. A questionnaire will be given at the beginning of the course to determine everyone’s prior knowledge, and a follow-up test will be given at the end of the course.  Please complete the survey when you receive it.

Knowledge of Church History helps Christians understand what we believe.
